Abstract:UV-curable epoxy/SiO2 nanocomposite materials were prepared by using tetraethyl orthosilicate(TEOS)as inorganic precursor,3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane(GPTS)as coupling agent,1,6-hexanediol diglycidyl ether(HDGE)as polymerizable monomer and triphenylsulfonium hexafluorophosphate salt(PI-432)as photo initiator through a dual-cure process involving cationic photopolymerization of epoxy groups andsubsequent condensation of alkoxysilane groups. The structures, thermal and optical properties of nanocomposite materials were characterized by XRD,XPS,DSC,TGA and UV-Vis spectral spectrometer. The resultsshowed that in-situ generated nano-SiO2dispersed uniformly in the polymer matrix and the nanocomposite materials’glass transition temperature and thermal decomposition temperature improved a lot compared with pure
HDGE,on the other hand, the nanocomposite materials’optical properties is also very good.
